GOMPA

The Gompa at Jam Tse Dhargyey Ling is used for meditations and teachings. 

It also serves as a home to a number of large statues and an altar. 

There are statues of Buddha Shakyamuni, Chenrezig, Tara, Manjushri, Lama Tsong Khapa.

As the Centre continues to grow in membership, we now require a larger Gompa to serve our community properly.

It is the wish of our teachers, requested by Thubten Rinpoche, Lhagon Rinpoche  and Geshe Sangey Thinley, and the Board of Trustees to build a new enlarged Study, Meditation and Teaching Hall on the Centre's property to be of service to future generations. Any contribution - large or small - is a step further to realizing this wish.

Think big

Like the wish to reach enlightenment is for the benefit of all living beings so is our wish for a big and beautiful Gompa also meant for the benefit for all.

With the Jokhang Temple in Lhasa in mind we would like to build a Study and Mediation Hall with this kind of splendor on the hill at Kamo that will inspire every visitor.

May this vision inspire everybody who reads these words to make a contribution towards this goal.

Donations :

The estimate costs for this grand Gompa are $ 400.000 which includes a beautiful Meditation Hall, Library and accommodation, built to serve generations. It is hoped that $ 200.000 of this will be raised through benefactors, sponsors and donations and the other required $ 200.000 is to be raised through applications made to Funding Bodies-Organizations.

Stepping Stone

As a stepping stone towards the realization of a magnificent Gompa we will realized a smaller version on the property of JTDL that will later be developed into a practical community facility. The estimate costs are $50.000 to $60.000 which we are very close to achieving and anticipate the start of this project this year.
