You are warmly invited to a Picnic at Whangarei falls on Saturday the 17th February from 12pm (midday) under the trees to celebrate Geshe-las Birthday. Please bring everything you need for a picnic, food to share – and some to games to play!  In case of bad weather, we will change the venue to the centre.

Tsog

There will be a TSOG PUJA (ceremony) at the centre at 7:30pm – where we will make prayers for Geshe-las long life.  To contribute to the Tsog – one can either make a donation to the centre or bring a food offering.  (Food offerings are snack food, ready to eat –like biscuits, chips, lollies, chocolates, dried fruit, nuts etc)

THE TEACHING PROGRAMME FOR 2012

The centre’s programme for 2012 will begin on Sunday the 18th March @ 10am.  As this is the start of the year, we will be making a special Mandala offering to Geshe-la and Tenzin before the teachings begin, to humbly request and create the merit needed for them to provide these wonderful teachings for us this year.   Please come at 9:30am so that we can start on time.  If you would like to contribute financially to the offerings, please bring these with you and give this to Lexino so that we can add your offerings to the envelopes.

Please bring morning tea to share for after the teachings.

The programme will run from Sunday the 18th March until some time in May, when there is a possibility that Geshe-la will leave for a trip to Tibet from June to August.  Please make the most of the teachings that Geshe-la is offering from March to May.  If Geshe-la goes to Tibet – he will be back in the middle of August, and the programme will resume at the end of August until December.

WEEKLY PROGRAMME for March to May 2012:
Venerable Geshe Sangey Thinley’s (Geshe-la) teaching programme, translated by Tenzin Thupwang:

1.    Sunday Teachings @ 10am (arrive @ 9:30am); Subject: Spiritual Advice
2.    Monday Teachings @ 7:30pm (arrive @ 7pm); Subject: Mind and Logic
3.    Thursday Teachings @ 7:30pm 30pm (arrive @ 7pm); Subject: Lam Rim, the Graduated Path to Liberation.

Who can attend the teachings:
Sunday classes are perfect for everyone, beginners and advance students alike.
Monday classes are a bit more advanced.  Everyone is welcome, however you may find the text challenging.
Thursdays – this teaching is perfect for beginners and advanced students alike.

What to bring to Teachings:
A notebook and pen or recording device and a contribution toward facilitation costs.

Contributions
Although the teachings are being offered free of charge, contributions towards costs and facilitation can be a financial donation however small or large, or a packet of biscuits or box of tea is encouraged.  It is important on many levels to make a contribution of some kind: create positive energy, enable the centre to offer these classes, offer tea and biscuits and make a connection with the teacher - so we need to be gently mindful of this.
Your contribution can be offered at the entrance to the Gompa and our collective offerings will be placed on the altar before the teachings starts.  This is the way that we can collectively create the positive energy (merit) needed to receive and benefit from the teachings. Any financial donation above $5 is tax deductible as we are a registered charity.
