Our Major Project: Gompa (Meditation

We are in the midst of developing the Gompa Project: the building
of a study and meditation hall on the property at the request of the late
Thupten Tulku Rinpoche, Lhagon Tulku Rinpoche, Geshe Sonam Rinchen and Geshe
Sangey Thinley. Estimated Budget:
$400K to $450k.
Project timing –
start 2012, finish 2013.
Fundraising achieved thus far: $42k.
Still to raise: $400k.
Project Manager: The JTDL Trust Board of Trustees
(BOT)
Where we are at with this project:
The JTDL BOT are in the process
of developing a BRIEF – what the Gompa Project comprises of, in consultation
with our lamas. Once the brief is
complete – is will be sent to all the centres members to take a look at.
Once feedback on this has been assimilated, the completed brief will be
sent to building companies who may be interested in both project managing and
building the Gompa. Once we have
received their quotes and discussed this on the Board of Trustees – a decision
will be made and a professional project manager/builder will be appointed.
Regardless of this process, and what the ultimate design will be – we need
to raise a serious amount of funds.
All funds raised will be placed in a specific account, which will only be used
for the Gompa Project.
