Programme
The centre provides a regular program of teachings and classes for different levels of interest in Tibetan Buddhist Philosophy.
Classes or 'Teachings' are mainly given by our Resident Spiritual Teacher - Venerable Geshe Sangey Thinley (Geshe-la) and are translated into English. Geshe-la teaches from different Buddhist texts from various Mahayana scholars.
Additional classes are also given by Shelène Spoek, our Spiritual Coordinator. There are meditation classes, guided Prostrations to the 35 Buddhas and the 'Exploring Buddhism' courses 'Introduction to Tibetan Buddhism' and 'More about Mahayana Buddhism'. The excellent video series "Discovering Buddhism at home" of the FPMT (Foundation for preservation of the Mahayana Tradition) are used as a starting point for discussions in the 'Introduction to Tibetan Buddhism' course.
The centre also organises several Retreat Weekends held at the centre over the year, where one has the space to study a subject a little more closely in a welcoming environment.
Throughout the year several special celebrations take place on so-called Buddha Days. There are also different Puja's (offering services), like Tsog, Tara Puja en Medicine Buddha Puja on the specific days according to the Tibetan calendar.
You are most welcome to participate in any event or one of the classes - please call Shelène or Ani-la on 09-435 4444 if you would like to work out which classes are most suitable for you, or simply come up and visit!
