Centre Support Group (CSG)
Interested in volunteering for the centre?
Supporting the monks in their work? Helping the centre grow? Helping the centre
in its ability to serve the community? Being part of a positive group of very
cool people?
The CSG may be a good place to start.
For the first time in our Dharma Centre’s history, a Centre Support Group is
being established. The aim is to work together to support the centre and its
resident monks and nun in developing an effective programme and facilities in
order to enhance the centre’s ability to best serve the community.
Type of work.
Although all of this needs to be discussed at our
first meeting, some ideas of the type of work the CSG could take on and manage
are:
Programme and Courses - development
Grounds – gardens and maintenance
Membership – support, fun, administration, newsletters
Community – outreach programmes, schools etc
Centre promotion – courses, facilities, website, newsletters, signage etc
Sangha support – supporting our monks and nuns – English, medical, community involvement etc
Fundraising – event ideas and implementation
More – am sure more ideas will come when we get together – do you have any?
Commitments of being on
the Centre Support Group:
Commit to meeting once a month with the whole group
(dates, times to be discussed and confirmed after our first meeting.)
Commit to taking on and fulfilling a task that you are comfortable with
Commit to being positive and harmonious within the group
We will need a Chairman, Secretary and a Treasurer….
If this all sounds like you – fantastic!
You are warmly invited to the first meeting:
Sunday the 21st September at approximately
1.30pm – after the shared lunch – at the centre.
